The City of Groveland is coming up on a year of being Florida’s first certified Dark Sky Community. There is no better place to stargaze than on the farm! Join us for this unique event. Experience the outdoors, meet your neighbors and embrace the community spirit by racing through our tree-lined course in the endless sunshine of Groveland, Florida. Our land in Groveland was originally all citrus groves. The freezes of 1983 and 1985 devastated the groves, and the Sallin Family decided to diversify their risk as farmers by planting a different crop. Today, the farm is a leading grower of ornamental plants such as trees, shrubs and palms, but also continues to farm citrus in Groveland and other parts of the Sunshine State. Spanning over rolling hills, with lakes nestled in between, the Cherrylake family has been farming this land for 2 generations. We’ll take any chance we can get to invite our community to enjoy the tranquility of the farm. We have a variety of activities for you and your loved ones to participate in during our Farm Days events. From exploring our pollinator garden to enjoying yard games to participating in arts and craft activities, there are options for people of all ages.
A day on the farm is a day to enjoy the simple pleasures that nature, family and community provide. The rolling hills, the smell of orange blossoms, the shade of an Oak tree, the fluttering of butterflies and the grateful hearts of those around us refresh our spirits and feed our minds.
